Kwelix · For health insurers

Who to reach first, and why.

Kwelix is the insurer dashboard behind POP by Kwelio. It turns members’ dose records into two scores and a short, prioritised outreach queue for your care team.

The dashboard

One screen for a care team. Four ways to look at it.

Who to reach first, and why.

Members ranked by KIS, the Kwelio Intervention Score: how likely a lapse is, and how much it would matter. Each row shows what moved it. Your care team decides who to contact and how.

What it does

Two scores and a queue.

Kwelio prioritises. Your care team decides.

Kwelix is built and running on demonstration data. The first insurer deployment happens at pilot.

  1. KAS

    Adherence measurement

How consistently each member keeps to their medication schedule, from 0 to 100 over a rolling 30 days, weighted by how critical each medicine is. Built from logged doses and photo capture confirmed against the schedule, not from surveys.

  2. KIS

    Intervention priority

The Kwelio Intervention Score: the likelihood of a lapse and how much it would matter, so outreach starts with the members it would help most. Your team sets the alert threshold within published ranges.

  3. Queue

    Outreach queue

Ranked members, with what drives each score. When a member puts a plan medicine on hold, it reaches the queue for the care team to confirm. Kwelix never recommends clinical actions.

  4. Portfolio

    Portfolio view

Trends across your members. Members still calibrating, without enough history for a score, are left out of cohort figures.

The score

KAS, the Kwelio Adherence Score.

How consistently a member keeps to their medicines, from 0 to 100 over a rolling 30 days: completion weighted by how critical each medicine is, photo-assisted logging, timing, and runs of missed doses.

No score until a member has 14 days and 10 scheduled doses; until then the member is calibrating, never zero. The weights are expert-set and will be refitted on the first real cohort.

The priority

KIS, the Kwelio Intervention Score.

The likelihood of a lapse and how much it would matter, so outreach starts with the members it would help most. Your team sets the alert threshold within published ranges.

The model behind it: AUROC 0.88 on CMS DE-SynPUF (US Medicare synthetic claims), 2.1M de-duplicated records. It shows the method works, not that it is proven on a UAE cohort.

Status

Built, and running on demonstration data.

Kwelix is built and running on demonstration data. The first insurer deployment happens at pilot. Every chart on this page is demonstration data, and Sara is an illustrative member, not a real patient.

Data

The care team sees the score.

Each member’s medication score and whether they might need support. Not photos, not daily logs. Individual reasons only with the member’s consent to outreach.

No underwriting or premium use during pilots; this is in the contract.

At home

Every dose is taken at home, out of sight.

Kwelix shows your care team what the dispensing file cannot: whether members are keeping to their medicines, and who may need a call.

How it fits together

From a dose at home to a call that matters.

  1. MemberLogs each dose in POP by Kwelio, with a photo when they can.
  2. ScoresKAS and KIS are calculated and shared with the insurer’s Kwelix.
  3. QueueKwelix ranks who to reach first, and shows what drives each score.
  4. Care teamYour care team decides who to contact and how.

The business case

What keeping to medication is worth.

In a US study of over 857,000 chronic patients, adherence was associated with annual medical cost savings of roughly $4,400–$5,300 per patient with comorbidities. Non-adherence is associated with up to 10% of US hospital admissions, and accounts for 33–69% of medication-related hospitalisations.

  • 0.88

AUROC on CMS DE-SynPUF (US Medicare synthetic claims), 2.1M de-duplicated records. It shows the method works, not that it is proven on a UAE cohort.

  • 50%

In developed countries, adherence to long-term therapy for chronic illness averages around 50%.WHO, 2003

  • 20.7%

of UAE adults live with diabetes on an age-adjusted basis — among the highest prevalence rates in the world.IDF, 2024

What could early support be worth to you?

Your illustration

—avoidable cost addressed a year

— members back on track a year

How it is worked out: members × likely to lapse × reached in time × back on track × avoidable cost per member.

For reference: In a US study of over 857,000 chronic patients, adherence was associated with annual medical cost savings of roughly $4,400–$5,300 per patient with comorbidities. That is a US study, not a UAE figure.

Data and privacy

How pilot data is handled

These terms go into each pilot agreement, and members are told them in plain words.

What the insurer sends
A pseudonymous file: member IDs, ICD-10-CM codes for chronic conditions, the medication list in UAE drug codes, age band, eligibility dates, four clinical-event flags, an aggregate baseline cost and a dispensing file. No names, dates of birth or Emirates IDs. The insurer holds the re-identification key.
What your care team sees
Each member’s medication score and whether they might need support. Not photos, not daily logs. Individual reasons only with the member’s consent to outreach. Pregnancy never reaches the insurer.
Cover and premium
No underwriting or premium use during pilots; this is in the contract. Members are told that taking part does not affect their cover, premium or claims.
Data protection law
UAE Federal PDPL (45/2021), ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021, and the GDPR where it applies. Lumio Holdings is the controller and Kwelio Labs the processor.
Deployment
Multi-tenant SaaS, shared by default. A dedicated deployment for one insurer is available as an option. No on-premise deployment.
